GIVE BACK TO COMMUNITY
Upon arrival in Georgia, volunteers will stay at a hostel in Tbilisi for 1-day orientation. The orientation will include everything one needs to know for the volunteer program: Introduction to Georgian Culture and Customs, Regulations and Expectations, Safety Measures, Travel Opportunities and Project Overview. Volunteers according to projects are then accommodated in homestays run by local host families who have been approved by Zen Travel team. During your stay, the host family will provide you a full board. Additionally, the volunteer will be assigned one member from Zen Travel team to get all the support he/she may require.
A volunteer daily schedule will vary depending on the specific placement. A typical schedule may look like as follows:
First Day:
- Volunteers will be escorted to their placement by a local coordinator and introduced to the placement staff they will be working with.
Weekdays:
- Breakfast at the homestay.
- Volunteers leave home and travel to their placements. Task and working hours depend on the project and placement that each volunteer is working at.
- Lunch break.
- Work at the placement usually ends between 4.00 pm -6 pm. Volunteers are free to travel back to the volunteer house, go sightseeing, do some shopping or visit any other places of interest. Reccommendations will be provided by Zen Travel team.
- Dinner at the homestay.
Weekends:
- Various authentic daily tours are organanized to best capture the culture and the traditions of the country. The volunteers will be traveling together to give them a chance for networking and sharing. Be assured to have lots of fun activities thrown in the programs to make your journey unforgetable.
